MSSA Cup Entry Forms

It is that time of year again for cup competitions, where we will hold the three national cup competitions and the two state cups. We will begin play on 4 January, weather permitting. We will rotate the various cups from week to week with emphasis in getting as many early round games completed in the various competitions. If the weather is on our side, we should complete all of the cups by late April, early May. For an idea of how matches are scheduled, check the cup archives.

The competitions and entry fees are:

Maryland Cups:

Rowland Cup - Maryland's Open Competition - $100
Stewart Cup - Maryland's Amateur Competition - $100

USSF/USASA National Cups:

U.S. Men's Open Cup - $300
U.S. Men's Amateur Cup - $250
U.S. National Women's Cup - $250
U.S. Men's Over-30 Cup - $250

In the national competitions, Maryland teams will qualify to play into the regional qualifiers. The regional winners will compete for the national finals.

Teams registered and playing in any MSSA sanctioned league are eligible to enter these competitions. MSYSA registered U17-19 teams are eligible to enter the two state competitions and the U.S. Amateur & Open Cups. Youth teams need to complete permission to play in adult competitions form through their youth registrar. The forms can be found on the MSYSA site.

Draws will be held for each competition. Attempts will be made to avoid teams from the same league/division being drawn in first round matches. All of this will depend on the number of entries between leagues. In the Rowland & Stewart Cups, there will be no repeat first round draws. Clubs will not be seeded.

Entry forms must be received (not postmarked) by the DEADLINE: 5 DECEMBER 2008. One check shall be sent to the MSSA for all of the cups entered. We will then forward the entry fees to the USSF/USASA. Notice that the MSSA entry form has a worksheet to tally the total. Included is the performance bond of $140.00. The performance bond will be applied to all of the competitions ran at the state level. Once a squad has completed all of its competitions, the performance bond will be returned. If a game is forfeited, the team will be unable to compete in any other cup unless the bond is replenished. Referee fees at the state level will be $140.00 ($70.00 per team) and paid at the field by each team.
